DFW Area Concealed Handgun Licensing Course

 

Location

 

·        Corinth, Texas (Oakmont Country Club Area)

 ·        Special arrangements for private classes, groups, and out of town classes.

 

Class Schedule

 

·        Saturday classes only (8:00AM - 6:00PM) (with a working lunch)

·        Breakfast will be provided.

·        Course is a minimum of 10 hours for new applicants. 

·        Course is a minimum of 4 hours for renewals.

 

Cost

 

·        CHL Class Fee: $100 (New applicants).

·        Texas DPS License Fee: $140 (New applicants – covers a four year term and is paid directly to TXDPS).

·        CHL Class Fee: $50 (Renewals).

·        Texas DPS License Fee: $70 (Renewals – covers a five year term and is paid directly to TXDPS).

 

    Class Requirements

 

·        Note taking materials and folder (provided at no charge).

·        DPS student applicant packet (provided at no charge).

·        Assistance with all required paperwork (provided at no charge).

·        Texas CHL Law Book (provided at no charge).

·        Fingerprinting for 2 fingerprint cards - 1 FBI - 1 DPS ($5 charge).

·        2 passport I.D. photographs ($5 charge).

·        Notary public ($5 charge).

·        Hearing protection (provided at no charge).

·        Eye protection (provided at no charge)

·        Shooting range fee ($10 charge).

·        Shooting proficiency B-27 target (provided at no charge).

·        Semi-Automatics (Smith&Wesson 9mm's) for students without a handgun ($25 charge).

·        Where concealed handguns are prohibited.

·        Alternatives to using force and/or deadly force.

·        Basic knowledge of the use of force.

·        Weapon storage and locking devices.

·        Weapon handling and child safety.

·        Range safety.

·        Basic marksmanship.

·        Handgun use.

·        Handgun evaluation.

·        Review and Final Exam.

·        Handgun proficiency.
